ORANGE – IMPLEMENTATION OF LOCAL RULE 314A IN CIVIL CASES

Effective January 1, 2020, Orange County Superior Court Local Rule 314A will be applicable. The text of the local rule can be found on the court’s website at https://www.occourts.org/directory/local‐rules/local‐rules‐of‐ court/.

Local Rule 314A requires electronic documents filed with or in response to another filed document to include on the first page the Register of Actions (“ROA”) number of the related document.

For law and motion documents, filers should add “(Related to ROA # __)” where the field after “ROA #” is the Register of Action number for the related Notice of Motion. The text should be placed under the document title and above the hearing date, hearing time, and department required by Local Rule 314.

Highlighted below is an example of the location and text required by Local Rule 314A. In the example, ROA #83 is the Register of Action number for the Notice of Motion for Summary Judgment that is related to the Reply.

PLAINTIFF’S REPLY TO DEFENDANT’S OPPOSITION TO PLAINTIFF’S MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT (RELATED TO ROA #83)
Hearing Date: July 1, 2019
Time: 1:30 p.m. Department: CX101

The new ribbon file stamp includes the ROA number of each document that has been electronically filed. (See boxed number in the sample ribbon below).
