LOS ANGELES – LASC PROBATE DIVISION ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO JUDICIAL ASSIGNMENTS

Effective Oct. 30, 2017, the Probate Division will implement the following changes:

• Judge Daniel J. Juarez is reassigned from the Mental Health Division to the Probate Division, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, Room 243C. Judge Juarez will provide coverage for other probate judicial officers as required, and conduct settlement conferences.

• Judge Barbara R. Johnson will preside over a newly added probate calendar courtroom, Department 57, at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

• In addition to minor’s compromise petitions that are currently heard in the Antelope Valley Courthouse, expedited minor’s compromise petitions will be accepted for filing in Antelope Valley and assigned to Commissioner Scott J. Nord, Department A12. All other expedited minor’s compromise petitions will continue to be accepted for filing and be heard at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

Counsel and parties are instructed to indicate the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents submitted for filing, to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings and document routing.
