SAN FRANCISCO – TELEPHONE SCAMS RELATED TO GRAND JURY SERVICE

Court staff has received information that San Franciscans are the targets of a telephone scam in which the caller purports to be a member of law enforcement who threatens the person with a bench warrant for missed grand jury duty. The scam artist instructs the person to obtain a certain form of cash card payment to clear the alleged bench warrant. Please be advised that Court staff are not making these calls or sending these types of emails. Report the incident to the San Francisco Financial Crimes Unit at (415) 553-1521.
