
Several California Judicial Council forms and rules were revised or amended effective July 1, 2025, and most recently on July 18, 2025. These changes include updates to rules related to electronic service, adjustments to forms used in various case types (e.g., civil, family law, probate), and modifications to rules concerning conservatorships.
Key Changes and Effective Dates:
Mandatory electronic service of court notices and documents to attorneys have been implemented, with self-represented litigants having the option to opt-in.
Rule 3.906 was amended to correct a rules reference, and Rule 3.1700 was updated to reflect changes in the Code of Civil Procedure.
Rule 7.1063 was amended to clarify changes of conservatee’s residence, according to California Courts.
Forms related to domestic violence and family law, including Request for Order (FL-300), were revised.
Forms related to small estate set-aside and disposition of estate without administration were revised.
Minimum standards for courtroom technology to support remote participation in criminal proceedings was implemented.
