Aloha! When e-recording an document like an Affidavit – Change in Trustee, is it necessary to redact certain information on the attached death certificate? I never touched a death certificate when sending to the recorder by mail, but I’m now in Hawaii and my new attorney uses an e-recording service here. I have never used e-recording, so I am not familiar with the details.

    Thanks for your input!

    Aloha Kristi!
No, do not edit the death certificate in anyway. The Recorder will do it on their end if necessary.
Don’t forget your PCOR with the document as well!

Aloha, Tanya! That was my understanding, but the attorney here says she is reluctant to rely on the recorder as she has seen documents that she has e-recorded and they were not redacted. Anyway, Thank you for your input.

    Love your picture!

    Mahalo,
    Kristi
