Changes to Court Processes and Procedures

Kern County Public Health Services Department reported on January 25, 2022, that the 7-day case rate is 175.3 per 100,000 (two weeks ago it was 58.6). Public Health Director Brynn Carrigan reported that based upon the state’s coronavirus model, Kern County’s peak of COVID-19 patient census in hospitals occurred on January 26, 2022. State staffed expansion of hospital capacity is expected to be operational by the end of January and will be in place through March 31, 2022.

Reassignment of Civil Cases from Department 12 and Division G to Division L

Under the authority of California Rules of Court, rule 10.603(b)(1)(B), effective February 14, 2022, all cases currently assigned to Commissioner Etienne, to be heard in Department 12 and Division G, will be heard in Division on the same date and time as originally scheduled.
