USDC – SOUTHERN DISTRICT – THE FOURTEENTH ANNUAL JUDITH N. KEEP FEDERAL CIVIL PRACTICE SEMINAR

This annual seminar is dedicated to the memory of District Judge Judith N. Keep, who served as a United States District Judge in the Southern District of California for over twenty years and as the District’s first female Chief Judge from 1991 to 1998. This year’s seminar will focus on “The Trial”—a glance at the finer details of trial practice. The program will include seven different panels featuring local District Judges from the Southern District of California. The panels will focus on the Judges’ observations of the trial process, including jury selection, opening statements, direct examination, cross examination, expert testimony, jury instruction, and closing argument.
