A number of California counties have reported that a scam regarding jury warrants is occurring in their areas. Be aware that residents have received fraudulent phone calls from a person claiming to be a Sheriff’s Office employee demanding payment to clear up an outstanding warrant wherein the person did not appear for jury duty. Anyone who receives a phone call demanding payment for an outstanding warrant regarding jury duty should report the situation immediately to your local Sheriff’s Department.
