PLACER – ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF DEPARTMENT 20 IN ROSEVILLE

The Superior Court of California, County of Placer is pleased to announce Department 20, the court’s new courtroom co-located with the South Placer Adult Correctional Facility at the Bill Santucci Justice Center in Roseville, which opened yesterday, December 10, 2018.

Per Presiding Judge Alan V. Pineschi, “In terms of the people’s legal business, it is very important that courthouses and courtrooms provide an accessible and appropriate setting. Serious matters are heard in courtrooms. Whether you are here as someone who has been charged with a crime or as a victim or victim’s relative, legal proceedings need to be done in a dignified, safe and efficient manner. Our new Department 20 will provide for that.”

“Department 20 is a symbol of the collaborative spirit in Placer County and the entire system working together to solve hard problems. Due to the complexities of court facilities and our collective justice systems, this facility would not have happened without the support and energy of all of our partners, in particular the Placer County Executive’s Office, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the Judicial Council of California, and the Placer Superior Court judges, commissioners, and staff.” said Jake Chatters, Court Executive Officer.

With the opening of Department 20, Department 13 located in Auburn is now closed permanently.
