LOS ANGELES – MOSK COURTHOUSE INCREASES NUMBER OF UNLAWFUL DETAINER (EVICTIONS) COURTROOMS TO FIVE

Effective April 23, 2018, the Los Angeles Superior Court will increase the number of unlawful detainer courtrooms to five at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, located at 111 N. Hill Street, Los Angeles, 90012. This change is part of the ongoing effort to enhance the ability for landlords and tenants to gain access to justice.

As of the effective date, matters currently scheduled for hearing in Department 94 will be heard in two new calendar/law and motion courtrooms. Cases currently assigned to Judge Deborah L. Christian in Department 94 will be heard in Department 97. Cases currently assigned to Judge Lisa Sepe-Wiesenfeld in Department 94 will be heard in Department 91. These cases will be heard on the same date and time as previously scheduled in Department 94.

In addition to the new calendar/law and motion courtrooms, three dedicated unlawful detainer trial courtrooms will be in operation. The five unlawful detainer courtrooms will be located on the sixth floor of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse as indicated in the chart below.
