LOS ANGELES – FAMILY LAW DIVISION ANNOUNCES JUDICIAL ASSIGNMENT CHANGES

The Central Family Law Division at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, 111 N. Hill St., Los Angeles, CA 90012, will implement the following changes to courtroom operations:

• Effective February 11, 2019, Judge Jennifer H. Cops will be assigned to the Restraining Order Center.
• Effective February 11, 2019, all cases currently assigned to Judge Dean Hansell and calendared in Department 7, will be reassigned to Judge Alexander C.D. Giza in Department 7 and shall remain as scheduled on the dates and times previously set, unless otherwise notified. Judge Dean Hansell will be reassigned to Dept. 309, at the Central Civil Courthouse, which will be a long-cause family law trial courtroom, effective February 11, 2019.
• Effective February 14, 2019, all cases currently assigned to Judge James E. Blancarte and calendared in Department 2B, will be reassigned to Judge Holly A. Thomas in Department 2B and shall remain as scheduled on the dates and times previously set, unless otherwise notified. Judge James E. Blancarte will be reassigned to Department 94, in the Civil Division of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, effective February 14, 2019.

Counsel and parties are instructed to identify the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all proposed orders lodged with the clerk, beneath the case number, to ensure proper distribution.
