FYI – Los Angeles Superior Court has a new civil rule says all motions must be filed within 3 court days of reservation or the reservation will be canceled.

Has anyone come across the issue that the Clerk’s of the court and the Judge says you have to use a specific filing platform like “Case Anywhere” we have a matter where the defense counsel states that the clerk at the court told him that the Judge prefers one of three specific platform specifically “Case Anywhere as a service platform”. My understanding is that Case Anywhere is a case management software. Asking for a “friend” that works in a small town with a small firm and does very limited Large Civil Litigation Matters. lol

Hi Carmen, yes I have about 5 cases like that. The judge will usually do an order specifying which service to use. One of the parties sets it up and gives Case Anywhere a list of all the parties/attorneys. Case Anywhere will create the account if you don’t have one already. You can contact Case Anywhere to be added on as legal staff so you can serve. You do have to pay for the service. On the POS you just say that you electronically filed via Case Anywhere per a court order dated XXXX.

Case Anywhere is usually only for service, you still e-file through an efiling platform.
