Join us as David and Howie provide an overview of ChatGPT's capability and the underlying technology, review some of the pitfalls and ethical considerations when using AI, and go over how to leverage ChatGPT to speed and enhance written discovery. Howie will also demonstrate using ChatGPT during the webinar with his own examples and taking requests from the live audience.

Attention will be given to how ChatGPT can help to quickly draft standard/boiler plate requests, how to formulate well-drafted specific requests by providing context, how to translate drafted requests into other types of requests, and how AI may provide language to describe highly technical matters that may be unfamiliar to the legal professional.

David S. Casey III

David S. Casey III is an associate attorney at CaseyGerry. He specializes in personal injury and complex litigation. He has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021.

In law school, David focused on trial work, taking classes in trial advocacy and complex litigation. He received a CALI Award in Employment Law and Technology for his paper analyzing American and European attitudes towards online privacy and the “right to be forgotten.”

While in school, David externed for the Honorable Anthony Battaglia for the Southern District of California, and worked at the much-admired Providence law firm Mandell, Schwartz & Boisclair, Ltd. He also attended the acclaimed Trial Lawyers College in 2018, where he spent three weeks undergoing intensive trial skills work.

In 2020, David participated in the inaugural year of the TAP program, where he tried multiple criminal cases as a volunteer deputy district attorney with the San Diego County District Attorney.

Howie Bruno

Howie Bruno is an associate attorney at CaseyGerry specializing in personal injury and wrongful death litigation. Prior to joining CaseyGerry, Howie was a member of the litigation department in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, where his practice centered on complex commercial litigation and environmental torts. Since becoming an attorney, Howie has maintained an active pro bono practice focused on domestic violence, immigration, and civil rights issues.

Howie grew up in San Mateo, California. He earned his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia, where he served as a member of the Student Bar Association. Howie is licensed to practice law in California and New York, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. Howie also serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
